Purpose:

The Medical Liaison will play a crucial role in the plasmapheresis field, responding to donor medical inquiries regarding deferral status and guiding them through the next steps for re-acceptance as plasma donors. This role involves reviewing deferrals, collaborating with management and medical teams at each facility, and streamlining the process of readmitting suitable donors.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly and accurately to donor medical inquiries about deferral status.
  • Provide clear and supportive guidance on next steps for re-acceptance as plasma donors.
  • Take on additional tasks from the medical/ member experience team as needed.
  • Review and assess donor deferrals to determine eligibility for re-admission.
  • Maintain and update deferral records in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Work closely with management and medical teams at each facility to ensure consistent and accurate deferral assessments.
  • Coordinate with medical advisors to obtain necessary approvals and insights on complex cases.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the deferral review and re-admission process.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for managing donor deferrals and re-admissions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on deferral review outcomes and donor re-admission status.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for further enhancing the donor re-admission process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Comfortable working with Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with a CRM ( Twilio, Zendesk, Salesforce, Sprinklr, etc.)
  • High level of empathy for our donors.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1yr certified medical experience as registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)] with a compact license required.
  • Minimum of 2yr customer service experience in a client-facing role in any industry required.
  • Experience as a moderate to high-volume customer experience/support team member required.
  • Start-up background preferred.
  • Plasma or blood industry experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a medical environment preferred.
  • Experience in donor management and deferral review is highly desirable.
