About Our Opportunity

As our IT Help Desk Manager, you will lead and optimize the IT support function by developing an in-house team, ensuring high-quality support in collaboration with external service providers, and directly assisting the Manager of IT Service Operations.

Things You'll Do Here:

IT Support Leadership:

  • Engage with managed service providers (MSP) and vendors to guarantee comprehensive support for users.
  • Innovate onboarding/offboarding processes with HR to enhance IT user experiences.
  • Facilitate communication between users, MSP technicians, and leads for efficient ticket resolution and project collaboration.

In-House IT Support:

  • Strategically transition IT support to an internal model, minimizing dependency on external MSPs.
  • Implement a robust help desk ticket system, including documentation and training for staff and technicians.
  • Recruit and manage in-house IT technicians, ensuring coverage across all time zones and maintaining high service standards.

IT Documentation & SOPs:

  • Deploy a centralized platform for IT support documentation, ensuring accessibility and consistency.
  • Regularly update IT support procedures, maintaining alignment with current technologies and practices.
  • Collaborate with IT Security to establish and maintain security standards and processes for company workstations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Foster strong relationships with IT departments to communicate technology updates and initiatives effectively.
  • Partner with HR and other departments to continuously improve the IT-related aspects of employee experience.

Change Management:

  • Support and drive change management across IT.
  • Assist in establishing a change management program with Valenz IT.

Requirements:

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or a related business discipline, with a focus on team leadership and support.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing remote IT operations and supporting remote workforces.
  • Proficiency in managing Office 365 and Active Directory environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, detailed, deadline-driven environment.

A plus if you have…

  • Experience with advanced IT systems and cloud services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
  • Experience leading large-scale IT projects or transitions.
